Bundestagsbibliothek
The library of the German Parliament is the third largest parliamentary library in the world. It is situated in one of the main German Parliament buildings. You can combine this visit to the parliamentary library with a trip to see the famous cupola on top of the Reichstag, which was built by Lord Norman Foster. This popular destination offers a beautiful view of Berlin’s skyline. For security reasons, some personal information will be required.
Bundestag I & II
The Bundestag (http://www.bundestag.de/) is the centre of German politics. An internal trip through the building and up to the famous cupola has been arranged, which allows you to avoid the hours-long waits at the entrance. For security reasons, additional personal information is required.
Staatsbibliothek
Berlin offers an exceptional number of libraries and the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, or state library, is one of the largest and most complete in all of Germany. The Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin is located near the Postdamer Platz, and is built by the 20th century architect Hans Sharoun.

The Prickly Card Index: Rosenholz, the Staatssicherheit and the Results
Lecturer: Helmut Müller-Enbergs (BStU)
The heart of an intelligence service is its card file. To obtain this from an enemy country represents the greatest possible coup of the profession. The U.S. intelligence service, the CIA, achieved this in the case of the personnel card file of the foreign intelligence service of the GDR. It was microfilmed on security grounds, but this backup fit inside an ordinary milk can and thus could easily be carted off. This card file returned to Germany - an affair that has gone down in history under the name „Rosenholz.“ It was the basis for most of the espionage trials in the 1990s, for checking whether employees cooperated or not, and finally for a significant number of cases of suspicion. Intelligence services‘ card files have always been secret; they were never - with very seldom exceptions - made public. „Rosenholz“ is now public - an occasion for a report based upon an internal inspection.
Alte Nationalgalerie and Altes Museum
Thursdays evenings, most of Berlin’s celebrated museums offer free admission during the last four hours of opening. More information on museums and prices are available on the Website of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. Several museums, like the Bodemuseum, the Pergamonmuseum or the Alte Nationalgalerie are open until 22.00 o’clock.
Two guided tours have been booked for the Alte Nationalgalerie and the Egypt collection in the Alte Museum. The Alte Nationalgalerie collects German and French paintings of the 19th century and has a unique collection which includes German Romantic painters such as Caspar David Friedrich and the German Impressionists such as Max Liebermann. Due to exhibition preparations, the whole part of German romantics is closed. You will be able to see the famous German artist Menzel, the French impressionists and Casa Bartholdy. Please be aware that there may be queuing for these tours.
